For the next few years, Ayame sailed with her youngest three children and a crew of fourteen others- all of which had once been men and women that she and Yusuke had built life bonds with. Together, they made their way through the Grand Line, taking their time with exploring each new island they would end up on, spending weeks or months simply enjoying life.DECISIONS, DECISIONS
A year prior to the beginning of canon, Ayame received a letter. The recipient was unknown, but the threat was clear: either she make preparations to turn herself into the World Government for her crimes, or watch her world burn down. Thus, Ayame would ask one certain member of her crew for their aid. They agreed, undertaking a dangerous mission in which their life could have very well been forfeit. While having heard of the tales of a new upstart named Monkey D. Luffy ( and her adopted daughter, Suma- she couldn't help but be a touch proud, there, ) Ayame set sail towards Sabaody Archipelago nine months ago. Once landed, she sought out an old friend: Silvers Rayleigh. There, she introduced her former Captain to her children, who eagerly asked him questions to verify their mother's stories. Rayleigh remembered when Itsuki and Izumi had been born, though the last time he'd seen either, they were not but babies.Rayleigh and Ayame stepped outside to talk- walking about the Archipelago. Here, Ayame explained her plan- something he didn't agree with, but wouldn't argue with. Kiyomi met them upon their return, settled in Shakky's Bar, chatting with Itsuki, Izumi, and Kai.Here, Ayame bid her children goodbye. They didn't understand, other than that she would be undergoing a solo trip to the North Blue. She promised them that she would see them again, once she was finished.TO THE NORTH
Ayame left the Archipelago, sailing to the North Blue on her own to meet an old enemy: Captain Marzia Wyvernhill. Marzia had been assigned to Ayame years prior, when Marzia herself was a young woman in the Marines. Over the years, the two had clashed again and again, but this time would be different.Marzia had a secret in the form of a general.Those who bore witness to the fight called it legendary, watching as Ayame abandoned the ship she had been on, landing on Marzia's Warship and immediately taking out four of her men with two shots. The battle had been short, but deadly; by the time Borsalino and Foxface had apprehended Ayame, Marzia had lost half of her crew.

UNDERWATER PRISON: IMPEL DOWN
Thrown into Impel Down to await her trail, Ayame was greeted by select few others who had made the infamous, and hidden, fifth level their home- including Sir Crocodile. She had laughed in his face when she saw him, and asked what he of all people were doing in there? Over the next few months, Ayame would keep herself sane by conversing with Crocodile.FIREFIST ACE
Not much thought was put into the arrival of two new inmates. Ayame had seen plenty come and go, but these two were different. Jinbe, she recognized from years prior. And the boy he was with- a member of Whitebeard's Crew. She waited until the guards had left to ask Jinbe how Ace was, and guided them both on how to sit without being in too much pain. Ayame was free to roam her cell, and made use of that by approaching the bars and leaning her face against them.She asked Jinbe what a kid like himself was doing in here, much to his amusement. He explained how, and why, he was here- and explained how Ace got caught. At the mention of Blackbeard, Ayame spat onto the ground and grimaced, calling him a disgrace of a pirate.As the days passed, she asked Ace questions about her eldest, Mai- who was part of the First Division of Whitebeard's crew. It was a welcome distraction, Ayame sharing stories of her eldest and her other children- before revealing who she herself was. The Single Shot Snake, Gunner of the Roger Pirates.TOO MUCH IS NEVER ENOUGH
Monkey D. Luffy was too late to save Ace from Impel Down. It was revealed by Crocodile that they had taken Ace and Ayame both- a double execution of two legends. Ace was walked out first, with Ayame behind him. On the platform, Ayame knelt, expression oddly pleased. Her chin raised high, a smile on her lips. When asked why she looked so smug, she replied that the traitor of her family was here to watch her-Captain Fujihara "Black Fang" Junpei. Of course, she didn't blame him for leaving- but for leaving Suma behind to suffer? That, she couldn't look beyond. To Junpei's surprise, she said that she did still hold a place for him in her heart. He is, and always will be, her nephew.The events of Marineford- and the following Summit War- began, leaving Ayame and Ace to watch in horror as war unfolded beneath them. To her continued horror, she was able to see most of her family, as well: Kiyomi, Mizuki, and her children- all of them. She cried out for them to escape this hell, to leave her, though whether they heard her is unknown.Mai was the first to reach the platform of her children, followed by Itsuki and Luffy. As the events continued to unfold, Mai was able to free Ayame. For a few brief moments, the Empress was free once more. However, as Akainu went for a killing blow towards Luffy- which Ace attempted to block- Ayame shoved both boys out of the way, taking the entirety of the blow herself, resulting in a near instantaneous death- coupled with her head being decapitated on accident by Sakazuki Matsuri.Empress Fujihara Ayame died at the Battle of Marineford during the Summit War at the age of 51. Her body was never returned to Janoshima, thus sparking the events that would later unfold during the Janoshima Arc.

JOINING WHITEBEARD
Mai left at eighteen to join Whitebeard's Crew. The solo travel had been dangerous, and it took well over three months to even find Whitebeard in the first place. At last, she found him- and all but demanded to speak with him after taking a member of his crew "hostage" ( they played along with her; curious about what she was planning ). She asked to join his crew- to which he laughed in her face and told her, respectfully, no. A girl couldn't be on a crew of men!She asked to prove herself. To give her any test, and she'd succeed. Given the guns she carried, he gave her the task of going against Izou. Bound and determined to prove herself, Mai took on the challenge. For three days, she worked on trying to outshoot Izou, to outsmart him, something.On the third day, while Izou was lining up his shot for where he'd THOUGHT Mai was, she shot his gun out of his hand from beside him. Having shown her grit, smarts, and talent- Whitebeard, at last, welcomed her.BETRAYAL: BLACKBEARD
While she herself hadn't been as close to Blackbeard as her fellow crewmates ( something about Teach had always made her uncomfortable, slipping away the moment she could. ) the betrayal was still a slap in the face. She attempted to stop him by firing at him, but given the devil fruit he used, he went unscathed. She, however, did not- and gained the scar that cuts across the corner of her mouth, down to her chin.THE NEWS: MOTHER
News slowly began to spread of Ayame's capture. Mai learned of it a week after her mother had already been brought to Impel, via newspaper. The news had come as a surprise; no one had contacted her to let her know what had happened. When she learned, she stepped away from the crew, slipped into her own quarters, and screamed. However, she did not request to leave to try to settle this- no, that would be suicide, and her mother deserved better than that.REUNION
When Shanks approached her captain, Mai hung back; she hadn't seen him since they had both been essential children. The idea of him even recognizing her had been slim- until he called out to her after his meeting with Whitebeard ended. After a brief embrace and an even more brief catching up, he attempted to poach her for his own crew-which earned him a gun in the face and a grin from Mai, before she ordered him off the ship.ACE, CAPTURED
Everything changed when news broke of Ace being turned in by Blackbeard. No one had anticipated that Ace would be beaten by him, let alone captured and thrown into Impel. News of his imprisonment sent shock waves through the fleet- and soon enough, word spread that both Ace and Ayame were scheduled to be executed. The fire had been lit- to Marineford, they would go.

MARINEFORD
Mai arrived at Marineford with the rest of the Whitebeard Pirates and their subordinate crews from the New World. She was settled in the Crow's Nest, watching over the crew from above. Later, when Junpei made his move from the platform, Mai fired two warning shots, both landing mere inches from his feet. He looked up, startled, and was met with Mai glaring down at him, one gun aimed at his head, and the other towards his stomach. He did not leave the platform.Sometime thereafter, Mai saw Monkey D. Luffy and his Impel Down team falling from the sky and came to the realization that Ace's brother, whom Ace had always talked about, had arrived. When she witnessed Luffy stopping Crocodile's attempt to kill Whitebeard on the grounds of Whitebeard being important to Ace, Mai cheered that she "knew Suma was in good hands!" Just after Luffy had dashed off after informing Whitebeard that Ace would be executed ahead of schedule, Mai climbed down from the Crow's Nest. Whitebeard, after seeing some of Luffy's resolve to save Ace, told Mai after speaking with Marco that if she wanted to save her mother, now would be the time to do so, to which she bowed and thanked him, before sprinting off of the ship.Later, Mai found it odd when Squard appeared next to Whitebeard and was shocked when Whitebeard was stabbed by him. Mai, caught in the fray on the ground, managed to fire a shot that grazed Squard in the shoulder.After Crocodile yelled at Whitebeard for being weak, Mai determined that Whitebeard would survive. She pressed onward, unintentionally shadowing Itsuki and Luffy. However, she managed to climb to higher ground and watched with a heartbroken expression as the Moby Dick was destroyed by Akainu's meteoric magma attack.As the Summit War continued, Mai was held back time and time again by the surging crowd. Moments after release, she reaches Ayame, Ace, and Luffy- nearly simultaneously as Itsuki also arrives. However, before any celebration can be had, tragedy strikes: Ayame throws herself in between Portgas D. Ace and Akainu, taking the brunt of the blow through her solar plexus. Mai watches in horror as her mother dies. Rather than allow herself to wallow in the moment, she shoves a still-injured Ace towards Marco and Jinbe, yelling at everyone to run.Mai then draws her gun, shooting Akainu thrice. At first, it is presumed that the bullets have no effect, until the magma begins to cool. Mai turns the gun towards Aokiji at her back, and explains that she has three rounds left, and each bullet is a Seastone Prism Bullet- and her aim is perfect, she was being kind by shooting Akainu in the shoulder, ribs, and thigh. Before Akainu can strike, Shanks arrives, blocking his final blow with Griphon. Mai takes this moment to thank him, complaining that he was late, before escaping herself.JANOSHIMA

The Lost Son: Playlist

STRANDED
Jun'Ichi's plan did not go well. He'd intended to follow in his sister's footsteps, taking the seas when he was eighteen. One wrong move in the night veered him severely off course, and the next thing he knew, he was lost, afloat in the sea with no direction. After nearly a week with no sight of land, he came across a merchant ship. He gained passage on their ship after selling some of his weapons, and in turn, they brought him to their next port: Nanohana.MEETING THE WARLORD
He met Sir Crocodile on pure accident. One moment, he was walking through the streets of Nanohana, and the next, he had drawn his blades and stopped a man from attempting to jump- who he had assumed- a normal person. After a fight quickly taken care of, Jun'Ichi turned- and was face to face with Sir Crocodile, the Hero of Alabasta, Warlord of the Seas. Crocodile motioned for him to walk with him, and he did, blades tucked back into their sheathes upon his back.Crocodile asked how he learned to fight, to which Jun'Ichi explained that his father had taught him when he was younger. His father was half fish-man, and knew some fishman karate, so he'd taken those elements and applied them to his own style of fighting with his blades. Crocodile asked for his name. Fujihara Jun'Ichi, he answered. And thus, Jun found himself a new profession.GUARD DOG
Two years into Jun'Ichi's new role of Crocodile's personal guard, word spreads of Akainu killing a former member of the Roger Pirates. It took some digging for Jun to learn that it had been his father who had been killed, much to his horror. The first, and only time, he'd written home was this time: expressing his grief, and offering his condolences.Ayame did not respond.From there, Jun'Ichi gained a new moniker of Black Mambo, often times seen walking a few steps behind Crocodile when they would go out within Rain Base, or Alubarna. Jun'Ichi would entertain a young Vivi while Crocodile would speak with Cobra; this was something he was good at, children. After all, he had multiple younger siblings.He was aware of Baroque Works, though he was never offered a position within. He had his position- at Crocodile's flank, oftentimes alongside Robin.ESCAPING ALABASTA
The chaos that came from the Straw Hats ruining of Crocodile's plans certainly changed everything. Jun'Ichi had escaped during Crocodile's fight with Luffy, slipping away unseen to procure a ship- as well as all of Crocodile's personal artifacts. You spend twelve years playing guard dog, you learn what they actually treasure.Jun'Ichi vanished into thin air, once more.

SABAODY
Jun'Ichi arrived at Sabaody four days prior to the arrival of the Straw Hats, and two days after the arrival of his siblings and cousin. However, he had not a singular idea: he was only there to get information on where Crocodile was being held, and what the deal with Whitebeard was. It was here that he learned of the capture of his mother, and both her imprisonment and execution date. He left within hours of learning to make plans.
MARINEFORD
Sneaking an entire ship in along with a large fleet is surprisingly easy. The rest, however, is not. For the most part, Jun'Ichi remained in the background- until he spotted his siblings and cousins.From there, Jun'Ichi joins the fray. It starts with sickles attached to chains ripping through the crowd, hooking into Marines and dragging them down into the water. He saves Itsuki and Izumi from getting gunned down, much to their surprise. He tells them to keep running, that he'll cover them- and that it's good to see them both. After brief embraces, the twins begin to run with Jun keeping his promise, though he soon gets caught up in an altercation with Black Cage Hina.Escaping Hina was relatively easy given the chaos, though he is soon caught up in a fight against Captain Cyrus "Firestorm" Umbra. Together, the two fight for the majority of the Summit War, until Jun'Ichi is able to dig both sickles into one of Cyrus' wrists, crushing the bones. It is at this same time that Ayame is killed, and Cyrus grows distracted by Aokiji's decision to back down. Jun'ichi takes this moment to escape, returning to the ship he'd brought for Sir Crocodile and Daz Bones. Once the war ends due to Akagami no Shanks' appearance, they escape on the ship, with Daz commenting about the burns Jun'Ichi had suffered during his altercation.JANOSHIMA

- SICKLE CHAINS — Jun'Ichi was trained as a swordsman when he was younger, learning from both Rayleigh and his father, Yusuke, when he was on board the Oro. His lessons continued after Ayame made the decision to leave the ship, but was taught by tutors within Janoshima rather than pirates. As he grew, he began to toy with different blades, before creating an unholy creation of dual sickles, chained together by a length of literal chain. These sickles are sharpened to a dangerous degree, and can reach a flying length of six feet in any direction, or twelve feet if Jun'Ichi chooses to use only one, while using the other as a handle of sorts.

SAILING THE SEAS
Itsuki took to the seas with her mother when she was a teenager, just fourteen. Together, they made their way through the Grand Line, taking their time with exploring each new island they would end up on, spending weeks or months simply enjoying life. In her initial introduction, she is seen wearing a black dress paired with black boots.MEETING THE HEART
During one such excursion, the Vermilion Viper happened across a broken-down Polar Tang. Itsuki and Izumi, then eighteen, spoke with Ikkaku of the Heart Pirates, trying to figure a way to aid them. In the end, Itsuki determined that if they were to hook their anchors together, the Vermilion Viper could pull the Polar Tang to the nearest island, allowing them a better place to dock and repair. After a conversation with Captain Trafalgar Law, it was agreed. Izumi dove into the water to aid Shachi and Penguin in hooking the anchors together.This would not be the first, nor the last, meeting between the two crews.CHANGE OF PLANS
Six years later, Ayame informed her children that she would be departing on a solo journey. At first, Itsuki and Izumi both argued with her. A solo mission was a suicide mission! However, she refused to budge. The trip was made to Sabaody, where Itsuki, Izumi, and Kai were introduced to Silvers Rayleigh. There, they interrogated the poor man about stories Ayame had told them, before turning their attention to Shakky while Ayame and Rayleigh left to talk.NEW CAPTAIN
Kiyomi arrived, to the surprise of the children. She explained that Ayame had called her and told her to meet here- and that's what she did. As Ayame and Rayleigh returned from their walk, Itsuki puts the pieces together and asks Kiyomi if she was in the market for a new Navigator. Kiyomi laughs and replies that her family will always be welcomed on the Sapphire Serpent. Goodbyes are given, Ayame pulling Itsuki in close, brushing her fingers through her hair as she tells her daughter that she will always be with her. They had been gathered on deck after dinner when a News Coo dropped a paper by. Kiyomi picked up and began to read aloud before stopping.Fujihara Ayame had been captured by Marines, and put into Impel with a pending execution date. Silence settled over the deck before Itsuki rose and left the ship entirely, walking down the Gangplank and onto the dock. Here, she ran into Penguin and Shachi of the Heart Pirates, who invited her out for a round of drinks.She accepted.SABAODY
The next time Itsuki is seen is during the Sabaody arc. The Sapphire Serpent had made port roughly one week before the arrival of the Straw Hats, and had been looking for information regarding Whitebeard's plans- and any new information regarding Ayame's imprisonment. Itsuki's outfit has changed here. Rather than the dress she had worn before, she now wore a black fitted tank top, paired with a deep brown and green layered handkerchief skirt, black knee high boots without heels, and a deep green long sleeved, hooded cloak. Around her waist was a new, reinforced belt that held six chains of varying lengths. Tucked into slits within the belt were six knives attached at the ends of these chains, creating Itsuki's now-infamous weapon arsenal.Itsuki is spotted next in the Auction House with her captain and siblings. she happens to turn to leave when she spots Suma, and goes to speak with her, asking why she was here of all places? Itsuki joins the Heart Pirates, originally as a temporary member.
